John Copponex: the most interesting man in the world

John Copponex remains uncertain about his future plans, but he knows whatever career path he chooses is going to be an enjoyable ride for him.

Copponex, 21, was born March 17, 1989 to Shannon and Sheryl Copponex in Marietta, Ga. He attended all four years of high school in Cobb County at Lassiter High School where he played on the school rugby team. During his senior year, John started at wing position for the team and helped lead them to a state championship.

After high school, Copponex followed in the footsteps of his older brother Michael and enrolled at the University of Georgia. After originally studying as an art major, Copponex found his interest had swayed toward journalism and became a magazine major in the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communications.

Now in his senior year, he hopes to graduate in fall 2011 and find a job writing feature articles for an entertainment magazine. His ideal occupation would be to one day write for Esquire Magazine or a similar publication, while living in New York City.

Although Copponex changed from art to journalism, he has also not ruled out a career in design. If a career in journalism does not work out, he hopes to go to graduate school in graphic design and one day design video games.

Despite not having much journalistic or design experience, he has deep passion for both subjects and hopes this editing and production class will teach him valuable skills necessary to succeed in both fields.
