Student Returns with a Vengence

Shawn Jarrard is a man with a past, a present, and hopefully, a future.

Born December 4, 1984 in Gainesville GA, Jarrard claims he is not a traditional student.

Starting off at the University of Georgia in 2003 as an English major, Jarrod quit school after the end of his third year.

After a two-year hiatus Jarrod returned to the University of Georgia to finish his English degree. This time around, however, Jarrod desired something more out of his college experience.

Upon returning to the university, Jarrod made the decision to double major in English and Journalism.

He applied for Grady, was accepted and is currently working on both degrees.

He hopes to be completed and receive his dual bachelor degrees by the end of the 2011 spring semester.

School, however, is not Jarrard’s only interest.

Jarrard stated he was once a drummer in a band called “Clever For a Girl,” however; the band fell through due to the bands initials being inappropriate.

Jarrard is currently in ownership of a drum set, however is unable to play because he states he lives near a cop who will cite him for noise violations.

Due to his inability to play his drums, Jarrard has found another way to express his love of percussion. “I like to tap on things,” Jarrard said.
