Slug: Neighboring counties' high schools are worlds apart.

Summary: A feature piece that profiles two high school students from Clarke-County Central and Occonee County. The story will contrast the differences between the quality of education received from both schools. While Occonee County has become one of the top high schools in Georgia, Clarke Central in Athens failed its AYP report and needs improvement on its sub-par graduation rates and test scores. Impacting the differing levels education, a deep socio-economic gap exists between the two bordering counties. My story will focus on why these differences exist and how it affects the students as well as their opinions on the two schools. Interviews with Caleb Hayes from Clarke-Central and Cody Clark from Occonee County will make up the bulk of the article.
